PCC Cascade Job Fair

While it seems the economy makes small steps toward recovery every day, there are still many people unemployed throughout the US and especially in Oregon. For those in the greater Portland area, circle April 26th on your calendar; that’s the date of the upcoming Cascade Job Fair, held from 11am to 3pm at the PCC Cascade Campus’s PE building. (705 N Killingsworth St.) The fair will feature more than 30 employers from the public and private sector, including local organizations like KGW, Portland Police Bureau, Fred Meyer (well, sort of local) and New Seasons Market. Two Portland Parks Named Finalists for National Open Space Award

The Urban Land Institute in Washington, DC announced five finalists yesterday for the Amanda Burden Open Space Award, which recognizes “an outstanding example of a public open space that has enriched and revitalized its surrounding community,” and included were not one but two downtown Portland parks: Director Park near Pioneer Place and the Pearl District’s Jamison Square.
